The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is who maintains the safety of products. They do not have a standard set in place for dog toys. As a result, dog toy companies are not mandated to any safe material processes. Out of 400 dog toys tested 45% of these toys had hazardous toxins such as arsenic, bromine, and chlorine. And 25% of them had lead with levels higher than 300ppm, with 600ppm being the illegal limit for children's toys. Most stuffed dog toys are filled with Poly-fil, which does contain toxic chemicals. This can be dangerous for dogs as it can cause them to choke. It also has the potential to cause blockages, leading to emergency surgeries or even death.
We create dog toys that are not only soft and great for chewing, but also healthy. We accomplish this by creating dog toys from safe to chew materials such as, cotton fabric and hemp woven fabric. We also use safe to consume plant-based stuffing that dissolves like cotton candy for these plush toys. This creates a fun, but safe and reliable alternative to the common pet toys on the market today.
