This research aims to explore the relationship between concussions and football helmet technology. The work created reflects not only research on concussions but also research on helmet technology over the years and how helmets have improved to help limit the number of concussions in football.
Two designs were made, including a poster that can be displayed for educational purposes on the impact of football helmet technology, as well as an educational video meant to be played for student athletes before their season begins. Both of these were designed to match the research conducted, to explore the evolution of football helmets and their significance in concussion prevention throughout previous decades, while also further exploring current safety options and future technological advancements. This will help inform us of the importance of improving football helmet technology to prevent concussions.
